M6 ONERA Wing profile

Hi all !
I'm a student and Iwould like to simulate an M6 ONERA wing: http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/valid/m6wing/figb1.jpg (with CFX). The first problem I have is to model this wing with a CAD software. I already found the profile : http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/val...ng/airfoil.txt but I guess that the profile is not the same near the fuselage and and the end of the wing... Does anybody knows how to model this (i.e how to find the profils at the end of the profile) ?? Thank ! |

Hi, I'm simulating an Onera M6 too and I have the same problem, no Onera CAD found. I have made some CAD models but I'm not sure they fit well a real wing since I rounded the tip section of the wing, if you want I can send you a copy.
Excuse me for my bad english! |

Hi, I made a cad model, based on a file I found on this site http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/val...ng/m6wing.html
The coordinate is for a 1-meter chord (you have to adapt it to your case afterwards). P.S : No worries for the English (I'm French... I suppose you're Italian... so no worries P.S2 : I've got a model too if U want it See U |

Good! I made my model with the same coordinates, if you send it to me I can confront. My problem, as I said in a previous message, is the tip of the wing. I use starccm+ for simulation and my residuals are not good, say 10e-2 with approximately 10e6 polyhedrals and y+ 2.
Yes, I'm Italian. Thanks |

Hi, I've just realised that I forgott to change the name of my previous message... it was not Peter, but me, Cyril
I'm using CFX (not the best choice, but My University chose it ;(... but I'll try with Fluent If I have some time) I didn't start the simulation yet, I have to work on the mesh firts (bloody CFX... grrrr !!) I'll let you know ASAP what results I have. P.S: What are your boundary conditions (speed, pressure...) and what size did you chose for your simulating volume ? (I took 1 chord before the leading edge, 2.5c behind the trailing edge, 2.5 up) and mesh 3D-tri |

I have an ONERA M6 multi-block structured grid, and I should be able to provide the grid points in an IGES format. You might want to consider doing simulations through eCFD, by which you would be able to get cgns, data files in tecplot format and selected visualization of the flow solution, say, for comparison with the results from your code. If you are interested please contact me through http://ecfd.nlr.nl/index.php/contact-us-now Best regards, Bambang |

Hi guys,
I created a oneraM6 wing 3D geometry using gmsh, but when I try to make a 3D mesh I'm getting an error "core dumped". can anybody tell me how to remove this error. or If anyone is having a structured 3d oneraM6 wing geometry file or .geo file that can be open in gmsh. please send it to me @ mdmasood36@gmail.com I really appreciate you help, I have to complete my project. Thank you. |
