I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into the question of how valuable "validation" of CFD codes is when done away from the Re at which they would be applied in practice. For example, a RANS model simulating a wind turbine could be checked against a small wind tunnel experiment. If the code is accurate when simulating that small-scale model, how confidently could one say that it would work at full-scale?
