how to use LES

I get some materials which show some cases using LES, but when i do it ,i find that i cannt use LES for 2D problems.Dear friends, please give some advices how to solve 2D problems using LES by FLUENT software?

Hi,
by doing LES you are calculationg the large scale turbulence directly (that's why it's called large eddy simulation) and you are only modeling the "subgrid scale". Turbulence ist 3 dimensional phenomenon and bacause most of the turbulence is calculates directly with LES (and is not modelles like with RANS) you have to do 3D calculations... regards michael |
