Hi there everyone,
I have earned M.Sc degree in Mechanical Engineering this summer, now I will continue to a master-after-master level programme in fluid dynamics and I seek help from the ones who have experince in CFD programming. So far, I have managed to write FORTRAN codes for solving incompressible laminar N-S (lid driven, flow over a step). For the case of RANS I've also implemented two versions of low reynolds k epsilon turbulence model for lid driven cavity (low re k-eps models may not be proper models for the problem but I'm just trying to practice) Additionaly I am still working on v^2 f model suggested by Durbin even though I'm really stuck with it The thing that I wonder is after this stage on what (grid generation, multi grid, high resolution schemes etc.) should I concentrate on in order to improve my skills in CFD. Sometimes I try to deal with really advanced things and get lost. Any help would be appreciated especially I would be grateful if you can suggest me some papers or books to check. Best Regards Orkun |

Follow your heart. It could be either numerics, solvers, pre processing, post processing, modelling etc. Coding is just one part of it. If you are interested to improve coding skills move to OOPS.

Where are you going to Orkun? Master-after-master offers the Von Karman Institute in Europe, to my best of knowledge. I think you should see the syllabus of the courses you're going to follow and then look for papers that cover those aspects...
