does anyone know how to have a mesh moving in response to a flow? I'm trying to model an object that moves when flow enters the pipe. Please help me!

i'm using fluent. I don't have that much experience in it, so idon't know what you mean by the type of mesh. I want to model something that has two solid parts, one that is stationary and one that moves in response to the flow in. I think i will need two meshes but i don't know how i can add them. Can you help? Thanks

...then this all becomes a question on how to use Fluent, and you may have better luck in the Fluent user forum.

Charlotte,

Yours is a Fluid structure Interaction (FSI) problem. To my experience, Ansys multiphysics is good package to tackle FSI type multifield problems.I don't think Fluent got the multifield capability as of now.
