Dear Pradeep,
One of the most popular and cherished application of CFD is in semiconductor industries..heat dissipation of electronic goods is the famous one.MEMS can be simulated using CFD.. for e.g, GE is using CFD ACE+ for simulating the ink flow in Inkjet printers.. CSIO lab in chandigardh is usng CFD to simulate the plasma reactor for etching and chemical vapour deposition in semiconductor machining..ths is all abt electronics field.. in IT,its only high end computing..its make use of it for running its codes and optimization which is the most important thing in CFD.. hope this ll give u some idea.. thanks and wt regrads, Deepak Thirumurthy |

There are a few CFD softwares specialized on electronics cooling: Flotherm from Flomerics, Icepak from Fluent, Coolit from Daat, CFdesign, etc. These softwares are most used in board and system level CFD analysis. For room level (data center, central office) CFD modeling, there are Flovent from Flomerics, Airpak from Fluent, etc.
