I am trying to simulate a porous flow problem. The domain is formed by two co-axial hollow cylinders. The outer one remains stationary and the inner one rotates at high speed (angular velocity is about 10,000 rpm). A porous medium is filled in between. Two-phase (air/oil) flow enters the domain from one end and leaves the domain via holes on the inner cylinder. The device is designed to complete the separation of oil from air.
As you can see, it involves calculations of flows in porous medium, flows with rotaing walls, two-phase flows and their separation. Therefore I would like to have advices on any of these subjects. Especially, I am concerning with which turbulence model is most suitable and if there are any suitable test cases available. |
