HELLO EVERYONE,

I AM MODELING AXISYMMETRIC JET IMPINGEMENT WITH 9 JETS PLACED IN AN ARRAY AND ABOVE A HEATED PLATE WHICH RECEIVES HEAT FLUX FROM THE BOTTOM FACE AND THE UPPER FACE OF THE PLATE IS INTERACTING WITH FLUID FROM THE JETS AND AMBIENT. I DID MODELING IN GAMBIT 2.3.16 AND FLUENT VERSION IS 6.3.26,USING 3D MODEL AND INCOMPRESSIBLE PBNS EQUATIONS.

1) USED APPEND FILE TOOL TO SEPARATELY MODEL DOMAIN AND BASE PLATE FILES BOTH AT THE SAME TIME

2) THEN I USED THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS. IN MY CASE THE HEAT FLUX AT THE BOTTOM FACE IS 8333 W/m2 with A TEMPERATURE OF 313 K AT START.

3) I USED INTERFACE BOUNDARY COND. FOR THE FLUID SOLID INTERFACE ( TOP FACE OF HEATED PLATE) AND ALSO INTERFACE BC WAS USED FOR THE SIDES OF THE PLATE AS WELL

4) PROBLEM PART IS :- HOW DO I INPUT THE BOUNDARY COND FOR THESE SIDES AND THE TOP WHEN THEY ARE INTERFACE AS IN MY PROBLEM THE SIDES ARE INSULATED AND THE TOP FACE IS RECEIVING HEAT FROM THE BOTTOM ONE.HOW TO INPUT BC's FOR THESE..AND ALSO HPW TO PLOT TEMPERATURE CONTOURS FOR THESE????

PLEASE HELP

1. What happened to your lower-case keyboard?
2. You better submit this post to the Fluent forum.
