Hi,

Does anyone know what the advantage is of a panel method with let's say, sources and doublets in stead of a pure vortex lattice method.

Are there some general well known advantages or drawbacks for either of those potential methods?

Thanks,

Gerrit

Vortex lattice does not model thickness, and all bodies are lifting bodies. So for example a basic vortex lattice method cant study the influence of an airplane body on the wings efficiency.

A vortex lattice if very easy to implement. A panel code a bit more difficult.
