Hey.
I'm looking into purchasing a software package for CFD modelling of Smoke Propagation in Tunnels and hydro-electric power generation projects, could anyone advise as to which programs would be best? I've used Fluent a few years ago, and the other that has been mentioned is Phoenics. Thanks in advance, D |

I think any major commercial code can do. Star-cd is efficient in turbine simulation.

I guess, Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) would be a good choice. Take a look http://fire.nist.gov/fds/
Cheers Renato. |

It was a while ago, but CFX was used to model the fire that actually occurred in a London tube stop. Their marketing folks used that simulation to help sell the code for a while.
The fire itself was pretty nasty. Several folks were killed. |
