Default Difference of temporally and spatially simulation?

Recently, I read some literature and in these literature, the terms "temporally evolving" and "spatially evolving" are frequently used.What does these two terms mean? Because according to my knowledge a temporally evolving flow is also spatially evolving and vice versu. Thank you!
