Hello my name is Dash Swift and I am a final year Ocean Engineering student. My final year research project is the investigation into the Vortex Induced Vibration of a subsed well intervention device (really 17m long cylinder) using CFD. My first question is which software package to use?? The university has CFX and StarCD which one would be best?? I have used Ansys for FEA. The second question is in regards to recomended reading, I have got Computational Fluid Dynamics by Anderson, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe some more practical and less theorectical readings
