Default LES explicit filtering

when we apply an explicit filter and our mesh size is smaller that our filter size how do we solve on the small mesh?

do we do an LES on this mesh as well? and how do we apply the subgrid terms? are these based on the resolved scale quatities and applied the same to every cell within the filter width???
