Hi All:
I ran CFD simulation (FLUENT) of a component (many concepts to find the lowest pressure drop one) and then measured static pressure at several points to match. But what we found out that measured static pressure matches well with the CFD Total pressure (not static). Did anybody face this type of situation? Does anybody have any explanation/guess why this is happening? -static pressure is measured by pressure transducer. Thanks. |

Fluent gives the exact value of the static pressure even if you are using RANS instead of LES.
Give some details about the geometry and problem description then i can suggest whats happening in the flow. |

Thanks RZA.
Basically two (2) pipes after the compressor going to a aftercooler. So pressure drop I was talking about is between the section : after the compressor (2 pipes) to the aftercooler (after two pipes merged) in to a rectangular section. So static pressure drop is negative (from theoretical point and FLUENT). But the test gives postive pressure drop which is similar to the total pressure drop from FLUENT. |
