LDV/PIV - Facilities

Dear All
I form part of a small team tasked to investigate " what it will take" to set up a LDV/PIV facility. Since we in the CFD-world often make use of such data I thought it best to start "at the coal face", i.e. this forum: 1) If you have made use/know of such facilities I would like to have the contact details. I personally know of a CSIRO facility in Melbourne, Australia (impressive set-up I might add). 2) Would you say that you frequently make use of such facilities or would it be a rare occurence? 3) If the latter, how much of a role does cost and time constraints play in your decision? 4) If you are employed at such a facility, who constitutes your customer base (universities/large companies etc.)? Hope this does not interfere too much with the general CFD-discussions! |

Re the first item, try Prof. Prof. Joseph Katz, Department of Mechanical Engineering, John Hopkins University (also editor of JFM). His group specializes with PIV.
