I wrote a SPH program based on Rama Hoetzlein's fluids v2 which implements a simplified SPH model, fixed particle mass, fixed time step, fixed smoothing length. I got it to simulate simple dam break but it's much harder to adjust it for fluid solid interaction.
systems engineering background, mostly PID controller and CV processing. I am new to CFD with some understanding in FEM. For my purpose I need an efficient fluid model for (possibly real time) fluid-solid interaction for elastic or hard solids. I am mostly looking at Lagrangian methods because from my understanding Eulerian nodes are fixed in place. I skimmed through some overview the Lagrangian fluid models, but I lack the background to understand the advantage of each model and I am hoping you could point them out and recommend one that's suitable for my use. The ones I came across are eulerian-lagrangian hybrid, optimal transportation meshfree, MLS fluid, and some SPH refinement for density, kernel, viscosity, and acceleration correction |
