Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding SIMPLE method. Q. Can the SIMPLE method or its variants like SIMPLER etc., be used in codes based on explicit time stepping ? If yes, can you please refer a work, which reports this. Thank You |

The question of satyajeet13 was not about steady or unsteady but explicit or implicit.
So I'm answering. Theoretically why not ? but I do not see the real interest to do such way ? For explicit time scheme you should better use the chorin algorithm which is in fact a kind of projection method. You have only two fractional steps instead of many iterations between to consecutive time step n and n+1 To be precise for Ztdep , simple can be used also for unsteady problems. |
