I have already tried to simulate a fluidized bed dryer which is used for drying PVC suspension with hot air in MFIX environment. Unfortunately I faced many problems during simulation with MFIX. Would you please advise me another suitable software? Is it possible to simulate this case with FLUENT? Thank you foe attention in advance

It is up to the model you will choose. If the continuum model for particle is adopted, Fluent v6.2 should be a best substitute. If you want to study fluidization using the discrete element model, I think there is no commercial package so far, which can handle the particle-particle interaction by DPM.

Thank you for your attention dear Harry. I 've chosen continuum model for particles. What about CFX? Do you think it is appropriate?

Yes, CFX can be competent in your case. In fact any commercial package include granular kinetic model can do it. There are a lot of publication on this subject, especially published by Gidaspow
