Are there any benchmarks for compressible, isentropic flows in 2D. If someone can point me to an analytical solution that would be great.
Thanks a lot. |

The most basic would be flow over a wedge, producing an oblique shock. You may also want to look at Ringleb flow.

Are you sure that flow tih an oblique shock will be really ISENTROPIC?

The shock will not be isentropic. I assumed he was looking for sample problems that are solutions to the Euler equations. Apologies for my misread.

Dear Nashat,
One of the starting points could be to try the flow in a nozzle, say converging or converging-diverging. If you maintain the proper pressure ratio, you could get an isentropic flow. You could also try varying the pressure ratios so that you have shocks. This would help if you are looking for Euler cases. There are other problems like the circular advection problem, wherin streamlines are circular and you could get the details easily by a search. Hope this helps Regards, Ganesh |
