I am curious about noise reduction in aircraft coaxial jets engines. I had understood that noise reduction was achieved by lowering velocity gradients between the jets and the air. But in some fligth phases, the jets velocities are quite the same. Is the noise then not reduced or is there an influence of the temperatures of the jets (that induce rho and mach gradients)?
