Hello everyone,
I'm a mechanical designer and we recently got the 3Dexperience fluid dynamics engineer app in order to make thermal-fluid simulations. My laptop (ThinkPad P1 Gen 5), although good enough for CAD, struggles with CFD (wether it is meshing or simulating). We thought about making a new PC and I'm the one who should suggest what's inside. But after a ton of researches, I understood that I actually don't know that much about CPUS, especially simulation-wise. I saw that depending on the software, the amount of core will be more or less important, same thing for the clock speed. And the GPU may be negligible or not. The RAM though, is always important. I didn't find anything relative to The Fluid Dynamics Engineer app. So a little bit of help to choose at least a CPU and a GPU would be very welcome. I work with semi-complex assemblies (heatsink, fans, louvers, covers, heating components...). Thanks to anyone who try to help, Alexandre |
