Dear CFD user,
I would like to build a PC for my work, such as ANSYS Fluent (2D and 3D) or OpenFoam, but I am wondering which is better: dual e5 2680v4 (with 28 core 56 threads, 2.40 GHz ~ 3.3 GHz) or intel core i9 10850k (with 10 core 20 threads, 3.6 GHz ~ 5.2 Ghz). Could you please give me the advice? Thank you very much and look forward to hear from you. Best regards. |

Dual Xeon E5-2680v4 by a huge margin. It's not even close.

Correct, 8 memory channels with the dual XEONs vs. only 2 with the i9. That will make a huge difference.
