Does anybody know if 8GB dual-rank DDR4 3200MHz dimms are available, and if so, where they can be found? I've had no luck in my searches so far..
I'm sourcing parts for a workstation and getting 16GB per memory channel is substantial overkill for my needs (though I'll do it if I have to). |

I am not aware of any 8GB RDIMMs rated at DDR4-3200 with two ranks. Not even DDR4-2933 for that matter.
My guess is that these faster modules are all produced rather recently. Advances in memory chip capacity made it unnecessary to design dual-rank DIMMs with small overall capacity. Overspending just to get two ranks per channel totally sounds like something I would do personally. But not necessarily recommend to other people. |

When I specced out my new Epyc servers from Dell, they said they did not source 8 GB dual rank sticks. Smallest size DIMMS was 16 GB.
