Hi all,
I'd like to upgrade my existing Xeon workstation with an external hard drive for data storage. I'm currently running URANS with CFX and for each case all transient results will take up to 1 TB of space (using the default compression option in CFX). So I reckon a total of 20TB would be good enough. I did some searches and found external hard drive enclosure such as: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TerraMaster...nclosure&psc=1 which provides 4 bays and up to 32 TB of storage. Would like to hear from people on this forum if this is a good option, and any other recommendation for data storage. Thanks! |

Not a hardware related answer, but just in case you don't know:
You can save a lot of space if you change the transient results output options to only output specific variables at specific intervals, instead of every variable at every time step. I can't imagine post processing 1TB worth of data!!!! It would be horribly slow! |
