Hello guys.
I need a Workstation for extensive Industry level CFD Simulations with no upper limit on the budget. I am going to work as a CFD Engineer at a Tech Startup in 2 days and I have been given the option of building my own workstation. I will primarily be working with Solidworks 2015 and Ansys Fluent, CFX and Mechanical FSI simulations. I will be getting a 4 core license for Ansys. Prior to this, I have worked as a Research Associate at University College Dublin. During that period my workstation had the below specs. Processor : Xeon E5 8 core RAM : 32GB HDD : 6 TB RAID 0 configuration GPU : NVIDIA Quadro K4200 4GB GDDR5 card That all being purely Academic Research into Micro Rotating Machinery, I had about 1 Million Cells in my simulations and I never faced any issues with the setup. Now, I am not sure what configuration would I need. Could you people please help me out. |

Your requirements seem quite similar: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/har...-feedback.html
The only difference is that Intel Xeon E5-xxxxv4 should be available by now and they support DDR4-2400. |
