Hi all;
recently we bought a new PC for use as a workstation running with Fluent, in order to improve our simulation capacity. We chose an 8-core AMD FX-9590, 4.7 GHz (no overclocked) (now we have a 4-core license but we want to extend our license in an inmediate future). Another features of the workstation are: 16 GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 GPU card (1152 CUDA cores). The problem is that when we started to simulate, after a few iterations the PC gets totally locked, and we can't do anything but cut the power supply (take of the cable). In some cases we got a BSoD. We try serial and 4-process parallel with the same result, and the problem appears both, with only CPU and with 1 GPU run (using coupled solver in Fluent 15). We returned the PC to the store and they changed de processor for a new one, and still we have the same problem. We use the latest drivers for all hardware components. Could someone, please, give any idea? Regards. |

Are you able to run any other computationally intensive software on this machine?
Running memtest would be a good idea, it produces high CPU load and searches for memory errors at the same time. |
