I know how to design a flow over an airfoil.
Im a working on the methods for getting efficient lift. So increasing the flow over the blades and boundary layer control are some methods which inc the aerodynamic lift. I'm asking, how can i implement these methods in my modelling i.e in FLUENT or GAMBIT.! |

Well it was not clear what you were searching for in your first question. Now it's somewhat clearer but still reeally vague. What do you mean with "increasing the flow over the blades" and how are you thinking to control the boundary layer? By airfoil shaping? By the use of turbulators if needed?

Search the Cornell University tutorial for meshing and analyzing an aerofoil on google. Its very simple

yea.! method of preventing separation consists of supplying additional energy to the
slow moving air in the boundary layer over the airfoil. This can be done by introducing higher velocity air from inside the body. But how do i do these all in GAMBIT n FLUENT.!! ???? |

Mesh the airfoil normally but define one portion of the airfoil (the one corresponding to the hole where the air is injected) as a velocity inlet instead of being part of the wall. In Fluent you will be able to set up the velocity magnitude and direction coming from the hole.
I hope that this helps! Rob |

thank u very much.
And one more thing, how can i energize the turbulent boundary layer over an airfoil.?? Thanks in advance. and can u let me know ur email id, so that i can i mail u my work for getting your guidance.!! Thanks in Advance |

I don't know exactly how many othe ways exist to energize the boundary layer but I'm pretty sure that a small tour on google/library will give you the answers.
If you need any further help search for answers online and on the forum and if you don't find any answers open a new thread. You will have more chances to get answers than relying only to me (that I'm actually quite busy). Cheers! Rob |
