Hi everybody,
I'm currently investigating the flow close to an aircraft and have a question. At this project, several different geometrical settings have to be analized. I'm using a k-e realizable turbulence model. After modeling the surface mesh, preliminary CFD simulations have been performed without a boundary layer grid. Is there a huge differece in the angle of attack (boundary layer separation) with and without using a boundary layer grid? At all investigation, the y+ is located between 30 and 100. Mfg Freddy |

For wall bounded flows, like the one you are analysing, it is recommended to use the k-w SST model which requires a y+ <= 10
