Hi everyone, I’m working on a valve motion in 3D with only smoothing. The valve movement is relatively small. The mesh consists of hexahedra so I used the TUI command and activated spring smoothing for all shapes. I set the spring constant factor uneven to one. In the dynamic mesh zone panel I defined the fluid cell zones to rigid bodies and the boundaries to stationary, deforming or rigid body type. The problem is that in the preview mesh motion the nodes on the boundaries don’t move. The cell zones move but the mesh stand still. The smoothing doesn’t work. Has anybody an idea what I didn´t considered? I`ve set “faceted” for the geometry definition of the deforming boundaries. Could that be the problem and is it necessary to use a user-defined Geometry definition? Thank you. |

If the valve movement is small and you think that can be handled using smoothing you should try RBF Morph http://rbf-morph.com/.
