DPM Particle types, Spray Dryer

Hello
I am simulating a spray dryer. The solution entering a spray dryer is liquid solution of coal and organic liquid. The aforemementioned solution is injected through the nozzel into the dryer for drying through air. DPM model is being used. I wanted to ask that which "particle types" would i be using to represent the solution enetering the dryer and the reason of using that particular "particle type". The particle types available in FLUENT DPM model are: 1. INERT 2. DROPLET 3. COMBUSTING 4. MULTICOMPONENT I will be grateful for somebody's insight into this question. Thanks Mohsin |

Well, I think "Droplet" particle type would be used because it gives an option of "evaporating specie" which would be the organic liquid in this case, as the coal will be dropped down as a solid particle.
Or As the liquid solution being dryed consists of two components namely, solid Coal and orgainc liquid, Should i use multicomponenet in this case? Last edited by Mohsin; August 2, 2011 at 23:11. |
