Hi all,

Is it possible to be given the Re value in Fluent 6.3.26? I am new to CFD and it would be handy to confirm the validity of my results.

Thanks for your help

Hi Dan,
set your reference values (density-length scale-... ) in report->reference values.
set other variables e.g. inlet velocity to reach your desire Re No.

Thanks Amir,

I have done that. Is there anyway to confirm the Re value or is that the only way?

Dan

if your length-scale is fixed (i.e. if it is a flow through a pipe or a flow between two plates), then the only variable in the Re number that will change is velocity, so thats what you should try and validate, through mesh and time independence tests, and through comparing with any experimental data or with a simple analytical calculation. not sure what you mean by checking the `validity of your Re number'...maybe what you mean is that continuity is satisfied? if you tell us what flow it is, what the geometry is we can be more helpful
