species transport model or mixture model?HELP

Hi,everybody
now ,i am simulating two liquid_solid mix on a membrane in Fluent 6.3.26.one is water ,the other is ptotin(fine solid). Flow patternon the membrane is turbulence.As far as i know,"mixture model "was used to simulate liquid-liquid mix which caused by "turbulance",and "species transport model "was used to simulate liquid-liquid mix which caused by "diffusion".
But "turbulance" and "diffusion" are both occured in my problem which is a liq_solid mix

,so which "mixture model "should i choose? species transport model or mixture model?
or the exsited fluent model cann't solve my problem?

Hi zohreh,
if you have relatively low stokes No., you can simply use a scalar transport Eq. that contains both convective and diffusive terms.

thank u for your answer! can you please answer my question , what kind of model can help me in this problem, speaces or mixture model??

I have a dilute mixture of liq-solid which the concentration of solides is low!!

Hi,
as I said before it depends on stokes No. and also concentration.
for solid-liq. mixture with low concentration DPM is recommended instead of mixture method.
but if your stokes No. is relatively low, you can use species transport that is special case of scalar transport eq. that I prefer to use scalar transport eq. directly.
at last for implementation of these you should calculate diffusion coefficient of solid particles before.
