Default Setup for Fluent Flux Reports

I'm trying to figure out how to setup a problem so that I can get the correct information in Fluent post-processing.

I have an internal channel that splits into 6 channels. I want to find the mass flow rate in each individual channel using Fluent's flux report. How do I do this properly?

Here is what I tried doing...

1) created surface bodies in each of 6 channels in DesignModeler (these surface bodies were specified as fluids)
2) created named selections for each channel
3) hid the surface bodies

My thinking was that it would be easiest in Fluent if I had named selections for each channel. The problem I had with this approach was failed meshing. The surface bodies split up the fluid body unless I suppressed them, but if I suppressed them then the named selections would no longer upload to ANSYS Meshing.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks for your time

If you defined each outlet separately, you can get the mass flow rate at each outlet:
Report/Fluxes... with option Mass Flow Rate.
It was before on Fluent 6.3, and maybe it has changed on the actual version

Thanks for the response max. Right now I don't have the system ending with the 6 channels as outlets. The flow from the 6 channels combine back into one outlet.

I've been able to define an iso-surface to get a velocity contour map of all of the channels. Just can't figure out how to set up the flux reports.

Use iso-surface to create a cross section on one channel.
Then you should retrieve the massflow rate in Report/Surface Integrals...

Hmm, I'm not quite sure how to limit the iso-surface. For the time being I just defined a plane (in the x-y plane) and gave the z-coordinate that I wanted it to be at. I'm not at a computer with fluent at the moment. I'll try to figure that out later today.

I wasn't able to get the iso-surfaces to work to get separate surfaces for each channel.

However I was able to create surfaces by going to surface>plane... and checking bounded and defining the plane by 3 points. I did this for all 6 channels. In the end I had 6 surfaces spanning the cross-section of each channel.

The problem that I then ran into is that flux reports only allow you to calculate the mass flow rate at boundaries and not surfaces. Once again I'm running out of ideas.
