Default Velocity gradients from previous timesteps

Ed Kay is on a distinguished road
I would like to make a plot of time averaged vorticity in an unsteady simulation I am running. Since vorticity is not one of the quantities avaiable for producing time averaged statistics I will have to make a UDF for this.

Thus I need to access the velocity gradients from previous timesteps in my UDF but cannot see any macros which allow this. Any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated.
