Hi,
I am currently working on Flow simulation in Labyrinth seals using Fluent 12.0 at Texas A&M University College Station. I have the following queries: I am using a fine mesh and hence Graphics window layout constantly refreshes the screen causing the application to slow down in Fluent 12.0. Every time i pick an option from a dialog, it rebuilds the graphic window layout. Is there any way i could get a Graphic window layout like Fluent 6.3.26 which would not refresh every time ? Also i have turned on the turbulence models in my simulations, at high Reynold numbers the simulation work fine, however at low Reynold numbers in the laminar range i observer streamlines like in potential flow. Does Fluent 12.0 automatically turn off turbulence models at low Reynold numbers ? The streamlines almost follow the tooth profile in labyrinth seals at low Reynold numbers. Thanking you, Sincerely, Anand Vijaykumar Graduate Student, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas A&M University- College Station |

To know how much turbulence you have plot the turbulent intensity (http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Turbulence_intensity), or perhaps turbulent viscosity ratio.
