Hi!
I've managed to simulate a standing wave in a river in fluent. I now have the simulation data and would like to obtain the height of the open surface and the froud number. Does anybody know how to do this? Thanks |

Sorry I'm not sure I understand your problem correctly, but the answers might be:
Froude Number = u / sqrt(g*d) u = upstream velocity g = 9.81 m/s^2 d = water depth The height of the free surface: The easy straightforward way (for 2D problem) is to plot a single contour of the phase for VOF=0.5, print the plot and measure the height with a ruler. The harder, more accurate way is to export your data to tecplot, although I haven't done this myself yet. |
