greetings,
does anyone know if it is possible to impose a heat flux to a circle as a function of a circle's angle. in other words, suppose you have a 2d tube, and you want to impose a heat flux on the outside of the tube and a constant temperature on the inside of the tube. FLUENT creates the heat flux normal to the outside surface of the tube, so it is acting entirely in the radial direction. What I want is the heat flux to be acting from the surface of the tube, entirely in the +y direction. i attached a .gif image to try and better explain what i want. can anyone help? thanks. I donot quite get " heat flux to be acting from the surface of the tube, entirely in the +y direction". I guess heat flux is always normal to the surface?
to make heat flux a function of angle, you may want to use a UDF. In fluent manual, there is something like this "To specify this type of heat flux, you would simply use a DEFINE_PROFILE function in conjunction with a heat flux thermal boundary condition." |

sorry, it gets confusing when putting into written word.
essentially my question is this: is there a way to make the heat flux come off a wall at an angle other than normal to that wall? |
