Hi........
This is a basic doubt I feel. But I'm bit confused............ Can we specify length units in Gambit while creating geometry.........? Or gambit assumes unit lengths, and we need to specify the Units in fluent........? TIA |

That's true.... Gambit uses "units", (take it for meters) and then in FLUENT if you do nothing - then you are in SI system

You can generate model with any units. There is no such option of specifying units (I don't think so).
Fluent by default works with S.I units. -You must plan building your model in one specific unit. Don't mix up units when creating the model. E.g. If you are creating in inches then convert all the length scales into inches and create the model. -When you export the model into fluent, you have the option of scaling the model to the required dimensions. In fluent based on previous example, scale the model by specifying that the model was created in inches and fluent scales the length accordingly. I hope this helps! Regards, PawnPace |
