Hallo,

I want to simulate a fire in a room. For that i want to use fluent 12. I have some questions because this is my first fire simulation and i don't have any experience topic.

I want to model the fire as a volume with two source terms. First energy and second the smoke. For the radiation i want to use the DO model. That is i think OK.

But have anybody some experiences about the solver settings? Is there somebody how can help me and have a setup example?

Thanks for helping me!

I want to concertize: my apprehension is that the the calculation is not convergent because of the high energy source (10 MW in 45 m³). Have anybody calculate a test case withe high energy load?

I used in a small test case: RANS, pressure based, k-epsilon realizable, Discretization all second order, Least Squares Cell-Based, Interpolation Body Force Weighted, Pressure-Velocity Coupling PISO

and the residuals of the continuity only sink to 10^-2!!

hallo,

nobody helped me, so I must help myself. I found a paper where somebody simulate a fire in a tunnel. This is a good example for setting up a fire simulation. If somebody is interested ask me!

Hi there:

I'm also trying to simulate a fire front, such as a bushfire. I'm a bit stack on how to define the problem in terms of boundary conditions. Can you please post the reference to that paper you found?
Thanks!
