Hi
I am doing free surface analysis of ship.
When I plot Y-grid in FLUENT for wave patterns on free surface, I don't get smooth patterns in areas where volume mesh is tet. Other areas where mesh is hex the wave patterns are very smooth. In my domain a small volume near the hulls is tet, all other is hex. Is there any way to see the smooth pattern for tet mesh or do I have to mesh all volumes as hex?
Thanks

I want to ask another thing. For ship free surface analysis (resistance calculations) should I run steady or unsteady solution?

I think the solution is not fully converged thats why it is not giving smooth wave pattern.
