Hi All,

I am using Discrete phase model for a slurry pump to evaluate erosion of walls because of discrete particles entering the domain.

Initially I used maximum number of steps in tracking parameters panel as 5, with this option, fluent console displayed message as
number tracked = 45500, escaped = 0, aborted = 0, trapped = 0, evaporated = 0, incomplete = 45500
Later I started increasing the maximum number of steps in tracking parameters panel to 20000, then fluent is giving
number tracked = 45500, escaped = 16675, aborted = 9494, trapped = 0, evaporated = 0, incomplete = 28825

I am not clear why I am getting aborted tracks in the case?

Can anybody suggest me is there any better way to reduce the incomplete and abort tracks.

Thanks & Regards
Hari Prasad

Well, when you increased the number of the steps, the Fluent just simple calculated longer pathways (moresteps). It is clear. Yoa can also increase the size of the steps.
I always increase the number of the steps till the incomplete doesn't decrease anymore.

[QUOTE=hari_ls;215264]Hi All,

Hari, i new and i'm curious why use discrete phase for slurry flow. the theory guide state assumption for discrete phase is that the dispersed second phase occupies a low volume fraction. and isnt slurry flow a dense flow and need to be model by mixture model or Eulerian model?
