Solve->Initialize before using UDMs?

Hi all
I have read in quite a few posts that while using UDM's, the preferred method is to 1) Use GUI panel to define no. of UDM's (2) Compile the UDF with the UDM's (3) Solve->Initialize (4) Use Function Hooks to initialize UDM's using ON_DEMAND or INIT. I follow these steps but my results are way out of the ball park. I'm curious about the initialization of the solution part. When I don't initialize my solution, my UDM's dont work. But they work perfectly when I do and Im also able to see the values in the Contour plot. My only problem is when I do Solve->Initialize for 'All Zones' after reading in the case & data file, my pressure contours go to zero, which is why my solution is so far off. How do I fix this? Just so you know, I'm working on particle deposition problem using the DPM model. I solve my flow field first, compile my UDF's as per the above method, set up BC's and display particle tracking. Thanks Prashanth |
