Area-weighted or Vertex average ??

If I wanna compute the overall heat transfer coefficient on a solid surface, after convergence, I first define a "Custom Field Functions": heat-flux/(temperature-300),named as local-h. Then in the "surface integral" report, which option is best for obtaining the overall heat transfer coefficient, Area-weighted or Vertex average?
Thanks. |

generally we prefer area weighted, I dont know the exact reason though

but sometimes, the results by vertex averaging are more close to the exp data. The solid surface has constant heat flux BC, if define: heat-flux/(temperature-300), I think the temperature is obtained by vertex averaged, that is interpolated data from adjacented cell values.
I need more helps, Thanks. |

Hello Conan Use area weighted average bacuase this fined average Temperature on the wall by using integral. but the vertex average this fined sum on temperature divided by number od node. with best regards
