Hi all,
I have troubles modeling a non-premixed laminar axissymetric co-flow methane/air combustion. During the simulation the temperature is getting too high, order 3300 K. Adiabatic methane/air temperature is 2279 K. Could anyone give me some advice? Thanks in advance, Peter P.s: the inlet profile and journals below arent really readable, but I can post them again. Think I reached maximum chars or something. Im using the segregated solver, and also tried the coupled now. The first bit described the segregated solver set up. - Species model uses the Stiff-chemistry, inlet Diffusion, Diffusion Energy Source, Full multicomponent diffusion, thermal diffusion - I am importing a chemkin DRM19 mechanism. As a consequence my material properties are: in FLUID o Species Cp are piecewise-polynomial o Thermal conductivity & viscosity kinetic theory In Mixture: o Density is volume weighted mixing law o Thermal conductivity and viscosity is mass weighted mixing law. Also tried the ideal-gas-mixing-law here. Both gave the same issues. - Boundary conditions at the inlet can be found below. The inlet of the methane in the co-flow is 4e-3 (2e-3 axissymetric) while the rest is the air co-flow to 5e-2 - Starting off with first order upwind and going to second order. Under relaxation of pressure and temperature to 0.9. While species to 0.8 - Starting up with just the flow. During these few iterations I use a pressure-outlet of -20 gage pressure to start up the flow. Changing this to outflow with the cold flow - Then starting up with cold flow (so incl. species) with no volumetric reactions - Patching a hot region of 2300 K to ignite the flow and turning on the volumetric reactions. Using the ISAT table I decrease error tolerance). While doing iteration I clean and create a new ISAT table now and then. - At the end also doing direct integration. - Mesh size is good. Looking at OH,CH3 species and its source give smooth results. Coupled server; The same approach as the segregated server. Difference is that during iteration I go from courant number of 0.5 to 5 and the high temperature patching is more slowly.
