It could be that you don't have the additional license required, but the command prompt list should be:
define > models > addon-module > select option for MHD Cheers Stuart |

You are getting that error, because you have to load a mesh before typing in the commands to load the MHD module.
Hope this helps, |

You will FIRST have to load a mesh to the Fluent, then go to enable the MHD add-on. This feature is not enabled when the mesh is not loaded in Fluent. I have tested this.

and how do i enable meshing? when i fire up fluent 16 i check mark the option for "meshing mode". is that correct?
if it is, i did that and when i type the command it still doesn't allow. it says "invalid command [define]. this is frustrating. need to get a flow sim done |

No, it is not Mesh Mode. Just Start the Fluent normally (with double precision) and then click: File - Read - Mesh. Then load a mesh and once that has finished, Enter the commands.

you should put your cursor at the end of texts in console and then press enter button once to go to next line and you will see ">" now type this: define/models/addon-module you will get the point! |

Hi Vektor,
Load Fluent with a mesh or case file. Put your cursor on the console window and hit enter. You will get a set of text. Then paste "define/models/addon-module" and hit enter. Then you will get a set of addon modules. Type "1" and hit enter to activate the model. Go to the Models tree where you will find the MHD model visible. |

First type "define" (without inverted commas)
Then type "models" Then type "addon-module" A list will appear like this: 0. None 1. MHD Model 2. Fiber Model 3. Fuel Cell and Electrolysis Model 4. SOFC Model with Unresolved Electrolyte 5. Population Balance Model 6. Adjoint Solver 7. Single-Potential Battery Model 8. Dual-Potential MSMD Battery Model 9. PEM Fuel Cell Model 10. Macroscopic Particle Model 11. Reduced Order Model Enter Module Number: [0] Type 1 on text interface and you will be able to activate MHD model. |
