Solid inside fluid volume

Hello All,
I have a fluid volume V. Inside it, I would like to place a solid volume S. Can I mesh V and define S as "solid" without subtracting S out of V? All faces of S will be defined as "walls". I would like to avoid subtracting S from V. Does this make sense? |

If you want to leave the solid, you have to mesh it. It is much better to remove it.

I need the solid. Think of it as a propeller blade.

You still need to subtract the solid volume from the fluid volume, otherwise the fluid won't know where the solid is. You can retain the solid volumes while you are subracting it if you need it for something else.

Yes, I hear what you are saying. I have done the subtracting many times before and it works OK.
My problem now is - my propeller has complex volume and I had to slice it in 2 pieces. They are very hard to join. Hence I was trying to think if I can avoid subtracting and perhaps reference them to the mesh otherwise (I have no idea how) |
