I am running simulation on fluent 6.3.26 and I would like to export ascii file. I know that to export ascii file, we have to use the command
:file :export and then select ascii format The problem is that the ascii format is inactivated, and I don't understand why. Does someone have an idea why, and how to activate this option. thanks |

Are you running this in parallel mode? If I run on a single node I can write to ascii. good luck

I am having this same problem - and it appears when i open a case on one node or multiple. The data I am reading was computed in parallel mode. Would this make a difference? I am trying to export data through the following command sequence: file export
but there is no ascii option avaiable. In the GUI it is greyed out. |

Hi,
It's not possible to export your data in ascii if you've computed in parallel mode. http://hpce.iitm.ac.in/website/Manuals/Fluent_6.3/fluent6.3/help/html/ug/node117.htm When using the parallel version of FLUENT, you can export only the following packages: ABAQUS ANSYS Input CGNS EnSight Case Gold Fieldview Unstructured I-deas Universal NASTRAN PATRAN Tecplot |
