linux-ubuntu & fluent

hi fellows, i have installed ubuntu 8.04LTS desktop Edition(64-bit) on my core 2 duo laptop.
and installed the linux version of fluent linux.x64 or linux.x86 (tried both) in my laptop. but cannot start fluent . am not getting path exported right. i use mozilla firefox. help please. thank you. |

How are you trying to start fluent? Did you setup a symbolic link? Also, you'll most likely have to update libstdc++6 before fluent will run.

no i didnt. how do i setup a symbolic link. and where from i get the update libstdc++6.
i installed fluent in home/tom directory. |

i searched synaptic manager. didnt find libstdc++6 in the synaptic manager.

fluent did run but when i try to open a version of fluent(say 2d) following is shown.............
.....welcome to fluent 6.3.26 ....copyright... loading............. done can't exec /home/osborne/Fluent.Inc/license/lnamd64/fluentlm-helper91: No such file or directory no error handeler available error: Cortex received a fatal signal (segmentation violation) error object) error:eval:unassigned variable error object: rp-3d .................................... libstdc++ was installed. |
