Hi all,
i have a simulation which got 2 car passing by each other. I already created 2 car meshing zone which touching each other. I wanted to create a sliding mesh between them but i dun know how to start. any anybody guide me? |

for this case, if you are looking for the flow around each car, it is better to choose the domain around both cars and define moving motion for both! but if you intend to use sliding interface, you can define the edge of each side to be "interface"; and then define the sliding interface in the fluent.

i had tried to define the interface on the sliding surface but i not sure how is going to be done. do i have to make 2 sliding surface touching each other ? or i need to overlap them ? or i can leave a small gap between them?
i still new to sliding mesh. i have no idea how to prepare the mesh for it. hope you can help me out. thanks, |

can not get your problem. there is nothing extra done on mesh! just define the connecting surfaces of both face/volumes as interface, and then define the sliding interface set in the fluent.

i got a message said " cannot create surface from sliding interface zone . Creating empty surface "
is this normal? i didnt see any interior surface created in during sliding. |

no! the connecting surface must be a pair (one of which related to each entity. both of these connecting surfaces should be defined to be interface and in the fluent, u define a pair of both surfaces as sliding interface.

can you teach me how to create a pair of surface in Gambit?
i had tried to have 2 surface exactly togather in Gambit but they didnt form any interior when i create grid interface in Fluent. Fluent just create another 2 empty surface Wall-10 and Wall-11 even thought i got portion of this 2 surface touched each other. |
