information from saved data files:Unsteady flow

Hello,
I have saved data flies from a unsteady simulation. There are about 20000 data files from this particular simulation. Now I want to extract information like--temperature contours, velocity vectors, fluctuation at a particular point in my domain and others. To get this information if I have to open all of the data files and get the plots, it will take me forever. Is there any way to automatically extract the information that I need from these saved data files? If there is any script or macro that I can use to do this? Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks and Regards, Atul |

this is one sample of my journal file which I used long time ago for unsteady simulation..... you may need to prepare like this.... the command for journal file you can find by simply press"ENTER" in fluent tui... more details you could find at following link
http://www.engres.odu.edu/Applicatio.../ug/node48.htm my journal file: for just two set of cas & data file.... rcd bath-unsteady-Re-0.78Re5-case-3--0.085656.dat.gz di set g-s 11 10 9 1 17 14 () /display/set/contours re-g yes di conto press ,, /display/set/hardcopy/color colo /display/set/hardcopy/driver jpeg dis h-c press-%t.jpeg di conto tang ,, dis h-c tang-%t.jpeg di conto r-v ,, dis h-c rad-%t.jpeg di conto a-v ,, dis h-c axial-%t.jpeg rcd bath-unsteady-Re-0.78Re5-case-3--0.085736.dat.gz di set g-s 11 10 9 1 17 14 () /display/set/contours re-g yes di conto press ,, /display/set/hardcopy/color colo /display/set/hardcopy/driver jpeg dis h-c press-%t.jpeg di conto tang ,, dis h-c tang-%t.jpeg di conto r-v ,, dis h-c rad-%t.jpeg di conto a-v ,, dis h-c axial-%t.jpeg |

Thanks for the information umesh. Are you writing these commands repetitively for all of the data files in your journal file?
